Cultural heritage
Gest
GEST – an acronym for “Groupement d’études et de suivi des terroirs” – is a Burgundian association founded in 1995 that unites over one hundred wine producers to share and deepen their knowledge about Burgundy terroirs and carry out research on viticultural practices and their impact on the environment. It is also at the origin of the creation of the Conservatory of Ancient Grape Varieties, which aims to preserve the unique genetic plant material of Burgundy vines.
The Association of the Abbaye de Saint-Vivant
The aim of the “Abbaye de Saint-Vivant” Association is to make the historic site of the remains of the Abbaye de Saint-Vivant accessible to the public, thus offering the opportunity for Burgundy visitors to discover an inspirational site and one of the last vestiges of early wine production in Burgundy.
The Association Les Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne
The Association “Les Climats du Vignoble de Bourgogne”, chaired by Gilles de Larouzière, was created in 2007 by Aubert de Villaine to register the “Burgundy Climats” as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in July 2015, they officially joined the UNESCO World Heritage List. The aim of the association is to preserve these precious Burgundy Climats and their vernacular heritage, which remain a unique but fragile heritage. Thanks to the generosity of Le Club FICOFI® Members 112 projects have already been co-funded.
Education
The Institute of Masters of Wine
Through their members and activities, the Institute of Masters of Wine promotes excellence, education, and interaction across the global wine community. For sixty years, the Institute of Masters of Wine has been promoting professional excellence and knowledge of the art, science, and business of wine. It began with an exam held for the first time in 1953 for the trade, known as the Master of Wine examination. Two years later, the Institute of Masters of Wine was formed by the people who had passed the inaugural exam. The IMW’s membership now spans 30 countries while its study, examination and event programmes are conducted annually on a worldwide basis.
Teach for China
Founded in 2008, Teach for China Fellowship Program (TFC) is a non-profit education programme that focuses on leadership building under the management of the Lead Foundation. Selected candidates become fellows who serve as full-time teachers for two years in rural, low-income communities that are deficient in learning resources. The fellows teach students academic and life skills needed to succeed in life. With professional program management, skills training and support, the fellows themselves not only gain invaluable professional and leadership experience through their work as teachers but also a deep understanding of China’s educational challenges and a long-term commitment to creating sustainable solutions. As alumni, they will join a force for change to create an education system that prepares all of China’s children for success.
Trophée des Bourgognes
The Trophée des Bourgognes is a wine tasting competition that brings together students and winemakers to share knowledge and experience of Burgundy wines. Students learn the importance of terroir expression in fine wines as part of their blind tastings. The Trophées des Bourgognes is an independent event that is not affiliated with a school or an institution and aims to showcase the region as well as the men and women who have elaborated its heritage.

Musique & Vin Festival
The Musique & Vin Festival is the fruit of a shared passion for wine and friendship in the company of internationally renowned performers, including Jean-Yves Thibaudet, the Talich Quartet as well as Gautier Capuçon, all of whom who regularly and enthusiastically appear alongside Renaud Capuçon, Menahem Pressler, Yo-Yo Ma, Myung-Whun Chung, Ernst Ottensamer, Marlis Petersen, Emmanuel Pahud, Sunwook Kim…
Mother’s Choice
Mother’s Choice is a licensed charitable institution in Hong Kong that provides and promotes loving, nurturing care for babies and children in need of permanent homes, and for single girls and their families facing a pregnancy crisis.
Association 12 de Cœur
Association 12 de Coeur was founded in 2015 by Aubert de Villaine (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), Jean-François Moueix (Petrus), Pierre-Henry Gagey (Maison Louis Jadot), Jean-Pierre Perrin (Château de Beaucastel), Jean-Claude Rouzaud (Champagne Louis Roederer) and Michel Boss, to unite the top French wine estates in a common action to support charitable causes. In 2018, they launched an ambitious and generous project: for five consecutive years, 101 of the most renowned wine producers from all major French wine regions will participate together for exceptional auction sales with 100% of the proceeds going to support charitable causes in France and in Asia. This is a charitable initiative on an unprecedented scale, one that clearly shows the values of commitment and generosity dear to all French wine producers.
