Founded in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is now owned by the Champagne family Henriot. This unique domain includes a hundred different “climats” of which some are prestigious exclusivities, such as Beaune Grèves “Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus” and Chevalier-Montrachet “La Cabotte”. This Estate, family-owned since 1731, is now chaired by Gilles de Larouzière, a Henriot family member.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Bouchard Père & Fils was established in the Château de Beaune, where it remains today. The underground galleries of this imposing 15th century fortress constitute cellars with ideal conditions for ageing. They shelter a fabulous collection of nearly 2,000 bottles from the 19th century, the oldest being a Meursault “Charmes” 1846.
In 1995, Bouchard Père & Fils becomes the property of the Henriot family group. It has enabling provision of the best financial and technical means as well as an extension of the vineyard in the Côte de Nuits and Meursault. With high regard to tradition but with no nostalgia for the past, Bouchard Père & Fils created in 2005 a magnificent new winery, the cuverie Saint-Vincent. At 10 metres deep, the barrel cellar enjoys ideal temperature and hygrometry conditions and is naturally aero-ventilated.
