Georges LEPRE
George Lepré was born in Agen in 1942. His impressive career includes
the following appointments: Head Sommelier and Maître d'Hôtel at the Grand
Véfour in Paris from 1966 to 83; Maître d’Hotel at la Couronne in Pasadena,
USA in 1983 and Head Sommelier from 1983 to 1993; Director of l'Espadon, the
Ritz Hôtel restaurant, in 1992; Director of Professional Studies at the
Académie du Vin de Paris from1985 to 1993, and the Ritz International Wine
Manager from 1989 to 1993.
He has written many books including : The Wine Cellar Book, Château
Margaux, le Ritz, magie d'un palace et de ses vins, Le Vin en son Palais.
He is also an opera lover.
