Its flagship wines are Solaia ("The sunny one") and Tignanello (The original Super-Tuscan).
MARCHESI ANTINORI SPA

The ancient Antinori family has lived in Florence since the early 13th century when they moved there from Calenzano, a small town between Florence and Prato, where their presence was recorded as far back as 1188. They were silk weavers and bankers, with branches in Bruges and Lyon and a growing commercial network in Europe. They were also wine producers and merchants, and it was this business that gradually became their principal one; in 1385 Giovanni di Piero Antinori registered with the Guild of Winemakers. By the 16th century they had gained a number of clients outside Italy. Wine remained the family's main passion and activity, indeed when the "Fattoria dei Marchesi Lodovico e Piero Antinori" was founded in 1898, it was a remarkably modern and well-run estate and business.
Antinori was founded by the two sons of Marchese Niccolò - direct descendents of the Niccolò who had purchased Palazzo Antinori in 1506. They dedicated themselves to making fine quality Tuscan wines and developing international appreciation for them. Today, twenty-six generations on, the story goes on….

"We have shown over the years that it is possible to produce internationally-acclaimed fine stylish, elegant wines in Tuscany and Umbria while maintaining their original character". – Piero Antinori.
