DOMAINE DUJAC

DOMAINE DUJAC

MOREY-SAINT-DENIS
Owner:
Seysses Family
Domaine Dujac was born in 1967, when Jacques Seysses bought its first 5 ha in Morey Saint Denis. By the mid 70’s, the Domaine had gained a solid reputation and has remained there ever since. It has now built up to 12 ha in the most sought after “climats” of Burgundy, including for example plots in 3 of the 5 Grands Crus in Morey-Saint-Denis (Clos Saint-Denis, Clos de la Roche, Bonnes Mares) but also in Gevrey-Chambertin (Aux Combottes, Charmes-Chambertin…), Vosne-Romanée (Aux Malconsorts, Les Beaux Monts, Echezeaux, Romanée-Saint-Vivant…) and Chambolle-Musigny.
DOMAINE DUJAC

Speaking of Domaine Dujac is also speaking of a family story as Alec and Jeremy Seysses, along with Diana, Jeremy’s wife and a Davis graduate in oenology, have now been stepping into their parents (Jacques and Rosalind)’s shoes.

In 1987 the domaine moved to “lutte raisonée”, the reasoned application of treatments, and from 2001 to organic farming. The cellars in Morey Saint Denis have been extended in recent years to improve cellaring conditions. The barrels can now be kept at a cooler ambient temperature, enabling the malolactic fermentation to happen later and for the wines to be racked less frequently.

« Use knowledge and technology to counter accidents – for example, bad weather – but, if all is going well, don’t interfere. » - Jacques Seysses
